Earth Day began on April 22, 1970, at a time when environmentalists were a rare breed indeed. Slowly but surely over the ensuing decades, the Green movement has gained more momentum and more participants, shedding its mantle of the eccentric and offbeat along the way. Now, with global changes and reduction in resources becoming more evident by the month, recycling and 'being green' is no longer the eccentric exception.
Going green does not have to be painful. In fact, in order to move from a 'normal' life to a greener one, you can start by taking just a handful of tiny steps that we like to call Micro Steps. Micro Steps are small changes you can make to your everyday life patterns - easy to do one or two to start, and they all add up over time.
When each of us contributes in some small way, each and every day, we make a difference. It doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen over time. Thank you for doing what you can, each and every day, to make your part of the world a greener place.
Want more Micro Steps? We've included one or two in each Eco Friendly department.
Choosing sustainable resources is your gift to the world and to yourself. Select natural organic fabrics whenever possible. Choose wardrobe items made from sustainable resources such as organic cotton, wool, modal (beech), bamboo, recycled and repurposed items. Do your part - think eco-logically.
